Mr. Wu Jiawei, Project Manager, The Kangmei Institute
Wu Jiawei describes his work developing sustainable cultivation methods for medicinal plants in China while also guaranteeing the best price possible for farmers. He also calls for more help to protect some of the country’s mega-fauna, particularly Pandas, from inadvertent human interference.
Activities that The Kangmei Institute involved in four focus areas of community based development, nature conservation, climate change adoptions and ecotourism. He goes on to describe the situations present in the Chinese markets and how the Kangmei Institute helps the communities to price the items competitively such that the needs of community are met as well.
Mr. Kangmei shows us the main challenge that their Institute faces, is to prevent the increasing conflicts between humans and wild animals that are caused by rapid urbanization.
